North Wales Food Festivals

Food, glorious foooooooooooooood! Regular followers of the Oakeley blog will know by now that we love a little bit (ummmmm or maybe a lot…) of delicious food, in all its forms – from a nice piece of toast and jam in the morning to a comforting cake in the afternoon and later a tasty tea packed full of good stuff and local ingredients.
Wales is renowned for it’s plentiful supply of fresh ingredients, local food and home-grown produce, and we’re also renowned for shouting about it all too! Whether it’s Welsh lamb, Caerphilly CheeseĀ or Anglesey Sea Salt, lots of great Welsh food regularly hit the headlines, just for being delicious.
To celebrate our wonderful Welsh produce, why not head to one of the region’s numerous Food Festivals that take place over the Summer and Autumn months? You’ll find delicious food, wonderful ingredients and fresh produce, all served up with a good sprinkling of good Welsh charm at one of these North Wales Food Festivals, all within easy reach of the Oakeley Arms Hotel…..
- Hamper Llangollen – enjoy workshops, live cookery demonstrations and a local produce market at one of the region’s largest food festivals. October 17th – 18th 2015
- Wrexham Food & Drink Festival – Fun for the whole family at this annual event that takes place each May, with cookery demos, kids activities and a huge array of local suppliers.
- Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival – this lovely celebration of seafood in the pretty town of Aberaeron is not to be missed, with delicious festival food, top chefs and loads of yummy local fish. 5th July 2015.
- Menai Seafood Festival – Another delicious festival for all things fishy, the Menai Seafood Festival is perfectly placed to make the most of the area’s unique coastal heritage and local seafood. 22nd August 2015
- The Good Life Festival – it’s not just food that’s celebrated at this wonderful weekend long event in Hawarden, but also the great outdoors, books, music, vintage fairs and all things “good”! September 18th- 20th 2015
- Llyn Land & Sea Food Festival – Pwllheli Marina is taken over by a whole host of local and regional food suppliers for this event every May. With stalls, demos, chefs and delicious local food galore.
- Gwledd Conwy Feast – a wonderful celebration of music, food and feasting, set in the Medieval coastal town of Conwy. October 24th-25th 2015
- Anglesey Oyster Festival – anyone for an oyster? You’ll certainly find one or two at the Anglesey Oyster Festival. But it’s not just full of these lovely shellfish; you’ll also find local produce, real ales and tasty treats, and a live band or two. October 10th-11th 2015
