Sir Tom hits the coast
Some exciting news has reached us here at the Oakeley Arms which makes us wish that summer would hurry up and get wiggle on! We’ve heard that the one and only Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones will be headlining at Access All Eirias, one of the great north Wales festivals planned for this summer.
Sir Tom is one of Wales’ best loved, and most well known singers. From humble beginnings the boy from the South Wales valleys sir Tom began his career with a Welsh beat group in the 1960s, playing the pubs and working men’s clubs of the valleys. One of his first singles “It’s Not Unusual” was one of the best selling songs of 1964 and fame followed soon after.
And at the age of 73, Sir Tom shows no sign of slowing down. He appears every Saturday night on hit TV show The Voice and as we mentioned, he’ll be appearing this summer at one of the North Wales festivals Access all Eirias in Conwy, his first major outdoor show in North Wales. You won’t want to miss it.

And Access All Eiries isn’t the only festival scheduled to take place in our sunny corner of Wales this summer. In recent years, North Wales has become something of a mecca for music festivals, with more and more events planned every year. The North Wales festivals line up includes….
- Access All Eirias – a one day music festival in the coastal town of Conwy.
- Wakestock – one of the first North Wales Festivals, but now one of the largest, and most popular.
- Festival Number 6 – a music festival with a difference, this award winning event will return for it’s third year later this summer.
- Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod – not one for fans of rock, but this traditional music festival is one of the best known in the area.
- North Wales Bluegrass Festival – the 26th annual bluegrass festival will take place this year in Conwy.
So north Wales really will be the land of song this summer! Come and join us for a festival to remember…… see you at the main stage!
